Kendall College Library encourages patron self empowerment. For your convenience, many transactions are available online including:
* Viewing what is checked out and account status
* Renewing your library materials.
* Requesting materials from MeLCat
* Placing "holds" on materials checked out to other users
How do I Access Online Library Resources Off Campus?
This would include access to your library account, MeLCat, and all Library
Databases
The library URL is http://libkcad.ferris.edu/
There are TWO ways to access online Library resources from off campus:
EASY WAY: Enter your MYFSU ID + PASSWORD
OLD WAY: Enter your NAME + KENDALL / FERRIS Card + PIN
Your 14 DIGIT BARCODE NUMBER is located on the back of your ID Card
EXAMPLE : 22123456789100 - Do not enter the A's
Your PIN
Students/Faculty/Staff prior to 2006 enter the LAST 4 DIGITS of your Social Security number.
Students/Faculty/Staff after fall 2006 enter your
6 DIGIT BIRTHDATE.
EXAMPLE:
Birthday is Jan 3, 1975 ENTER: 010375
What do I have checked out? Can I renew my library materials online? -
Log into your Library Record to find out what you have checked our and to renew library materials.

How can I see what Fines I owe the Library? Log into your Library Record.
What are the Kendall College Library FINES & FEES? -
BOOKS
* Overdue books have a grace period of (7) seven days
* Overdue books can be renewed in the (7) seven day grace period.
* Books more than (8) days overdue CANNOT be renewed.
* Overdue books past the grace period accrue finds of 25¢ per item,
per day from the ORIGINAL due date,
up to 40 days.
* Patrons with books more than 40 days overdue will be billed for the following:
* $25.00 NON-REFUNDABLE fine and billing fee
* The REPLACEMENT COST of the BOOK
The amount will be determined by the
item record or default to $55.00
* Kendall College Library still retains ownership of billed Library materials

MEDIA - CDs, CD-Roms, DVD's, and Videocassettes
* Overdue media does not have a grace period.
* Overdue media cannot be renewed.
* Overdue media accrue a fine of 50¢ per item, per day up
to 20 days.
* Patrons with media more than 20 days overdue will be billed for the following:
* $25.00 NON-REFUNDABLE fine and billing fee
* The REPLACEMENT COST of the MEDIA. The amount
will be determined by the item record.
* Kendall College Library still retains ownership of billed Library materials
MELCAT - Please see the MELCAT page for information on MELCAT materials.
What if I lose or damage library materials?
* Please notify the Library Director immediately. Lost and damaged materials
will be dealt with
on a case by case basis.
What happens if I return an item I have been billed for?
* If a billed item is returned within 6 months, the patron
will be refunded the REPLACEMENT COST
of the item. Overdue fines and billing fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.
* Items returned after the 6 month period are NOT ELIGIBLE
for any refunds.
Where can I pay my fine?
The Library bills directly for accrued fines and fees. The Library does
not collect any money. All fines and fees are to be paid at the Student
Services office.
Can I make a book, CD, or DVD recommendation? -
Sure you can! Fill out the suggestion card in the Library or talk with one of the librarians.
